What role can digital storytelling play in education?
Digital storytelling can lead to the development of all the arts, visual, language, speaking and reading because it requires students to utilize each of these. As students are developing their digital stories they must work together in a cooperative group and come up with ways to incororate each of their different ideas which makes this a great team building experience for students as well. It is also a great form of technology integration because students must learn and master new programs to compete the assignment, it also gives them the opportunity to see how these technologies can be used in daily life.
Digital storytelling is an excellent way to integrate the arts and to get students to communicate and express through a means other than just writing. Digital storytelling is also a great way to get students involved in technology, working in cooperative groups, reading and following steps to accomplish a task on their own.
ReplyDeleteI also thought that digital storytelling was a great way to promote teamwork. This type of media allows students another way to express themselves, as well as learn how to incorporate technology into everyday life, as you said.
ReplyDeleteIntroducing technology to students is a very important thing to do now with our digital native students. They were born into a world with so many new technologies but they will just be normal life for them. So therefore it is important we integrate technology into our lessons so our students will not get bored and will be ready for life in general.
