What factors must teachers consider when planning data analysis activities?
There are many factors to consider when integrating data analysis into lesson plans, first you must take into consideration the grade level and ages that you are working with. You must also know their present ability when it comes to fluency in technology. It is important to make sure you know their skill level so that you can provide them with the appropriate building blocks in order for them to succeed at whatever they are attempting. You do not want students to become frustrated with technology causing them to withdraw themselves from the experience. You should make sure that the lessons you plan are enjoyable and interesting to students as well so they become more likely to want to use technology in the future.
I like that you said "fluency in technology". That's an interesting way to put it but there are some people who are much more fluent in technology than others. It seems unusual for a student not to have a computer at home but there are cases where some students do not have computers at home and are less familiar with them than other students.
ReplyDeleteThe frustration level of students is something that seriously needs to be considered. The withdrawal of students when they are frustrated with anything, let alone technology, they can shut down completely for the rest of the year and possibly for future years. Definitely something to consider.
