What types of planning and scheduling can be aided with the use of technology?
Planning and scheduling can be done in word processing and through using spreadsheets and are much more efficient than using hand written methods. The great part about using the computer is not only the neatness but also the ability to save and organize this information for future use. Technology is also great to use in the classroom when creating calenders, job charts, and other informative posters. Another effective use would be the use of IEP's with children who have learning difficulties, these charts can be modified as time goes on to fit students current needs.

Chapter 15
What role can rubrics play in lesson assessment?
Rubrics are an essential tool in education because they let students know what is expected of them and allow them to understand how the teacher will be assessing their work. When students are well aware of what they need to be doing they are more likely to successfully complete an assignment and can gain knowledge effectively because they are more informed. Rubrics are also a great tool for teachers because they act as a checklist and make it easier for teachers to grade and specifically see what the students have missed.

Chapter 11 - Mathematical Modeling
What is microworld?
A microworld is a tiny world in which students can test out hypothesis' they have and see how the things they try out might work out in the real world if the same situation were to play out. It is a safe way for students to see what might happen realistically, unlike a simulation it is meant for students to take seriously and act as if it were true.

Chapter 10 - Games and Virtual Environments
How can teachers use games with their students?
Teachers can use games with their students as a tool for broadening the educational experience, their are massive amounts of games available with the click of a mouse. Teachers can use simulations which help their students to experience what they are learning virtually without ever having to leave the classroom. There are also many ways to test skills through different drills and practice games for any of the core subjects.

Chapter 4 - Emerging and Assistive Technology
What will the future student computer look like?
Although we are not one hundred percent sure what a future computer will look like it is obvious from the developments we have had over the years that it will be faster, hold more information and data, be lighter, and smaller. It is also likely that it will be touch screen and likely three dimensional along with having 4g wireless capabilities in which users can use the internet anywhere anytime. Only time will tell how these computers will advance however it is clear that these advances are already being made and that they will continue for years to come.

Technology Integration in the Content Area
What factors must the teacher consider when planning to integrate technology?
When planning any lesson there are a number of factors a teacher must take into consideration such as the age of their students, students current knowledge and skills, time constraints, and so on. These same factors must be looked at when creating any lesson that integrates technology. It is also important for the teacher to make sure he/she is fluent enough in the technology they choose to use for the lesson so that they will be able to help students in any way. When integrating technology it may take longer to lesson plan and to execute the plan so this must be acknowledged by the teacher and they must be willing and capable of this!

Planning and Developing Technology Rich Instruction
What is Data Driven Desicion Making?
Data Driven Decision Making is a technology used by school systems to collect, organize and analyze data presented by teachers based upon their students abilities and test scores. It allows those assessing the data to make informed decisions about lesson planning, focus on a subject, teacher ability and so on. This type of technology is highly effective in measuring not only the success of students but also of teachers by being able to assess how much their classes have improved over time. This technology is not readily available to all schools which is a challenge for educators and school systems because they are unequipped to evaluate data in a productive and speedy manner.
